PINHOLES
Well Lit Photo Club bring Pinhole photography to all kinds of outdoor events.
Pinholes are the simplest form of photography and encourage a focus on the essential elements,
light and time.
Pinhole cameras have no viewfinder, you aim with intuition and hope for the best. This unpredictable style of photography is captured on photo sensitive paper with exposures often taking upwards of 30 seconds.
Think of pinhole photos as moments in time.

Take pinhole images in our pre-loaded cameras and develop them in our mobile HORSEBOX DARKROOM.

Pinhole photography suits any daytime outdoors location.
You can find Well Lit Photo Club at city centre workshops, music festivals, heritage events, pop ups by the beach, or remote country retreats.
We take wellbeing and creativity on the road.

Well Lit Photo Club can be set up anywhere, offering a unique, hands-on experience with people literally developing their own memory of the day. This transforms them from passive consumers into active creators, adding a layer of community art to any outdoor event or occasion.

Pinhole photography invites you to slow down. Taking an image becomes a form of active meditation that can help achieve a flow state, that state of total immersion that is incompatible with negative thoughts. Developing an image also releases dopamine, which is linked to pleasure and reward and also provides a mastery experience which builds confidence, competence, and a sense of purpose.
Research also shows that spending time in nature can lower stress hormones, improve mood, and calm the nervous system. This slow, observational process creates a deeper connection to your surroundings.
Pinhole photography is good for you!

Pinhole photography is accessible, requiring no real technical expertise, which makes it perfect for all ages and abilities.
The true magic happens in the darkroom, where you witness your image emerge in the developing tray, a unique moment of creation. Deciding the perfect second to halt the process in the stop bath adds a thrilling extra layer of drama to the experience.
Each pinhole print becomes a one-of-a-kind document of the day, a moment in time captured by the public.

We're not just making pictures, we're building a community archive with each pinhole image as unique as the individual who created it.
